The Environmental and Urban Renewal Plan (PRUA) is a plan/project that applies landscape approach principles to the planning of mountain areas, by addressing the upgrading of highaltitudes settlement areas on a landscape scale.
The scope of the plan is the Vajolet Valley, located in a central position with respect to the most challenging and interesting trails of the entire Rosengarten group.
The area, which is divided into meadow/pasture plots, is occupied by buildings grouped in small seasonal clusters.
The plan consists in a number of interventions that reinterpret the Ladin settlement tradition with a view to upgrading landscape and settlement areas. The plan adopts a comprehensive approach which considers buildings as a whole in order to transform groups of constructions into dense clusters. Every intervention carried out on a single building acquires meaning in relation to the adjacent artefacts. In this scenario, the interventions on spaces of interaction become relevant.
The measures focus on the revitalisation of the cultural landscape and on the reinterpretation of original settlement patterns (vìles ladine) with a view to making the existing tourism activities compatible. T e expected outcome is a tool able to support the development of settlement principles intended for a responsible and sustainable tourism, based on the enhancement of the identity values of the Ladin culture.
