Joan Nogué is a professor of Human Geography at the University of Girona and director of the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia. He received his PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and continued his studies as the University of Wisconsin in Madison (USA) under the direction of Professor Yi-Fu Tuan. His two lines of research are geographic and spatial thinking and landscape intervention. He has published many books on both subjects and has published many articles in prestigious international journals. Some of these books include:  Las ‘otras' geografías (2006, in collaboration with Joan Romero); La construcción social del paisaje (2007, ed.); El paisaje en la cultura contemporánea (2008, ed.); Eaisaje y Teoría” published by Biblioteca Nueva. He was awarded the Rei Jaume I Prize for “Urbanism, Landscape and Sustainability” in 2009).

Architect. Professor at the Mendrisio Academy of Architecture, Università della Svizzera Italiana, Switzerland.Professor at the University of Innsbruck. Visiting professor at numerous European and Italian Universities (Vienna, Palermo, Reggio Calabria, Monaco di Baviera, Zurich, Milan, Porto,Viseu, Berlin).
Founder of “Studio Walter Angonese” in Caldaro (Bolzano, Italy). His works received many awards and nominations.

Benedetta Castiglioni

Associate Professor at the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World of University of Padova (Italy). Her researches on landscape focuses on the relationship between people and landscape, questioning social perceptions, attribution of values, education and awareness raising, heritage contruction. She is representative for her University in the Uniscape network and she is member of the Regional Landscape Observatory's Scientific Committee of Veneto. She recently published “Paesaggio e Osservatori locali. L'esperienza del Canale di Brenta” (with Mauro Varotto, 2013) and “Landscape as mediator, landscape as commons. International perspectives on landscape research” (edited with Fabio Parascandolo and Marcello Tanca, 2015).

Architect. Professor at the DAD-Department of Architecture and Design and Director of the “Mountain Architecture Institute at the Politecnico di Torino (Italy). He was awared “the Mario Rigoni Stern prize for Multi-Language Literature in the Alps for his book “The construction of the Alps”.
