Camposaz is an international workshop on landscape and architecture whose goal is to actively engage young professionals in initiatives for the aesthetic and functional enhancement of small areas. Camposaz Dolomiti encompasses the three editions of the workshop that as of 2013 took place in the Alpine village of Primiero. The project areas of intervention, generally degraded sites with considerable untapped potential, where any action can translate into a clear social message addressed to the population, are identified in collaboration with the hosting local government. The planning and development of the interventions take place over one week, during which 12 young participants work side by side, also putting their manual skills to the test. The experience results in small artefacts, which are temporary and reversible, made uniquely of natural wood produced by local sawmills. Camposaz aims to engage, since the beginning, people who daily experience changing spaces, in order to develop a shared intervention useful to the community. The construction phase is developed with the support of local carpenters who offer their professional expertise. In order to broaden the reach of the initiative's social message, during the workshop, Camposaz organises a number of collateral events open to the public on topics related to landscape and architecture.

Motivazione della Giuria

International workshop on the planning and selfbuilding of interventions aimed at enhancing the landscape with the involvement and participation, particularly of young people, in the transformation and renewal of small degraded areas. Planning and implementation take place over one week, during which the participants are invited to address the project theme and its context, and to make use of their manual skills to realise works that are always temporary and reversible. Collateral events open to the public, mostly focused on the relationship between landscape and architecture, make this workshop an innovative and original initiative in the field of education.
